This Double Cavity FM Filter 300W N-out with 19-inch rackmount from Delta Meccanica is suitable for transmitters with power up to 300 watts to suppress intermodulation products when multiple FM transmitters are used in the same location or are close to each other. New frequencies are formed (intermodulation products) present at the difference frequencies (e.g., 100 MHz and 106 MHz forms a signal at .94 MHz and 112 MHz, among others).
This signal should be strongly suppressed. This is achieved by placing a cavity filter after the output of each transmitter or output stage. If the frequencies of the FM stations are close to each other, then a triple cavity filter should be chosen (guideline: minimum distance 1.2 MHz). The cavity filter must be calculated for the power of the transmitter or output stage.
